ABHISHEK BACHCHAN IMPRESSED BY SONAM KAPOOR

Abhishek Bachchan is teaming up with Sonam Kapoor in the upcoming film ‘Dilli 6′ which is Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra’s next after the great successful movie ‘Rang De Basanti’.The trailer of Dilli 6 was revealed to the audience at Dubai film festival. The movie is based in Chandni Chowk situated in Old Delhi.

Abhishek Bachchan said, “It has been great experience forme, I truly enjoyed it, it gave me the opportunity to work with Rakeysh, who has been a very dear friend of mine and I wanted to work with him for a very long time. It also gave me the opportunity to work with two of my favorite actors, Rishi kapoor and Waheeda Rehman, and work on a wonderful script.”

Talking about Sonam Kapoor he stated, “She is very talented and a beautiful actress. She’s always smiling and I like that about her, it is wonderful to see that kind of confidence she has, because this is her second film and she was put in front of the camera with Om Puri and Rishi Kapoor and Waheeda Rehman. These are stall worth and I think the best in the business would be scared to stand in front of and to hold your honour in front of them takes a lot of guts and a great amount of confidence and talent.”

He further added, ‘There are traces of her father Anil Kapoor in her. She works as hard as he does and that she’ll bring credit to her father.”

'Shah Rukh is ours!'

'Shah Rukh is ours!', a Malaysian newspaper said in its editorial applauding the conferment of Datukship on the Bollywood superstar.

Nursing an arm injured during a film shoot last Friday, Shah Rukh flew in Saturday on a brief visit to be the first foreign actor to receive the award amidst rapturous ovation and took a rickshaw ride through Malacca, winning hearts of the citizenry.

The newspaper ridiculed critics at home, particularly some local artistes, who asked 'what has he done that we have not?' saying the award to Khan had 'evoked rather more bluster than it warranted.'

Justifying the decision of the Malacca state to confer the award on Shah Rukh Khan, the editorial said: 'Sadly for them, the answer is not what Shah Rukh has done but who he is. And who he is, is not just a fabulously successful 43-year-old film star with global recognition and vast masses of devoted fans'.

Trying to strike a balance in its praise, the newspaper said: 'No, our latest Datuk's personal assets and career achievements themselves did not justify the honour. Nor, frankly, do his movies, particularly not 'One 2 Ka 4', the last of his six movies to be shot in Malaysia, featuring a sequence of Shah Rukh and leading lady Juhi Chawla disporting themselves around a Famosa.'

'This may or may not have boosted Malacca's tourism; when a star of Shah Rukh's incandescence is on screen, everything else tends to be reduced to, well, scenery,' the editorial said, adding the justification for this award was proven at the ceremony itself, when his simple presence was enough to send the assembled dignitaries into a twittering fluster of swoons.

'Malacca, from Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob (the royal head of state) down, is enraptured by Shah Rukh Khan and unashamed to admit it. The award was an excuse to show it.
The popularity goes beyond the estimated 2.5 million ethnic Indians who form eight percent of Malaysia's 28 million population.

The tall and lanky Australian actor, Hugh Jackman, added that extra zing to his roles in 'Van Helsing' and 'X-Men'. He joins the ranks of Hollywood's hottest stars after being crowned the 'Sexiest Man Alive 2008' by People magazine. Being Bond isn't easy. With his impeccable style and plum-in-mouth accent Daniel Craig, British theatre's most famous personality who has twice played the World famous spy, ranks a close second.

'High School Musical 3' star and teenage heart-throb Zac Effron has found himself graduating with more than just a song-and-dance routine this time. The teen sensation has been voted hands down as one of the sexiest men around and hits the third spot.
'Fashion House' star Robert Buckley didn't know what he was getting into when he appeared shirtless on NBC's top soap opera 'Lipstick Jungle'. Well, he sizzled and made it to the fourth spot!

We just don't seem to get enough of Blair Underwood. A star since his 'LA Law' Days, Underwood was voted one of the '50 Most Beautiful People' People Magazine in 2000, and one of TV Guide's 'Most Influential Faces of the 90s'. He now comes 6th in this survey. Actor-musician Edward Westwick is best known as Chuck Bass from the American television series 'Gossip Girl'. The lead singer of the English rock band 'The Filthy Youth' makes it to the 7th spot.

Olympian Michael Phelps, is more than just an American swimmer. With fans across the globe, it is not surprising that he made it to the sexiest men alive list hitting an 8. Popular American country singer Blake Shelton has peaked more than country music charts this year. People magazine voted him into the 9th spot and he's definitely going places. When Khan will Take in Khan

When Khan will Take in Khan

WHO WILL WIN IN THIS FIGHT??

It was perhaps to be expected. After attacking Shah Rukh Khan in his blog, Aamir Khan has now decided to take the rivalry one step further, as the date for his next film, Ghajini has been pushed forward and will now clash with SRK's Rab Ne Bana De Jodi.

Ghajini, which is being directed by AR Murugadoss, was to be released in October. But following a few delays, the film's release has been now pushed forward to December 12, the same date when Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana De Jodi, hits the theatres. Aamir's hamstring injury has further added to the delays pluging Ghajini. The film was first delayed because Aamir wanted to concentrate on Taare Zameen Par. And now that he has injured his hamstring, the actor is using it as an opportunity to oversee the release of his nephew Imraan Khan's debut, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. His focus is his nephew right now. Incidentally, Jaane Tu too will clash with Harman Baweja's debut vehicle, Love Story 2050 on July 4. Anyway, to come back to Ghajini, it seems that Aamir himself is very keen that the film releases in December, because that is favourite time of the year for him. His Taare Zameen Par, which released in December last year, did exceptionally well. But this Aamir will be taking on not just SRK but the Chopras as well. So come December, we can expect another gigantic clash at the box office. Unless of course, one of the parties backs off.

Jean Claude Van Damme’s daughter to act in Salman Khan’s Veer

Vijay Galani’s Veer - directed by Gadar’s director, Anil Sharma - is a big budget extravaganza.

The film has been in news because of its hero - Salman Khan - charging a never-heard-before packet of Rs 25 crore as his fee, and also for writing the script.

Now, according to the latest gossip doing the rounds in B-Town, there is a strong possibility of Hollywood star Jean Claude Van Damme’s daughter starring in the film, in a crucial role!

“Yes she is here, but I wouldn’t want to talk about it. She is a big man’s daughter. Things arent’ finalized yet,” says director Anil Sharma.

Sharma isn’t willing to disclose anything about the film, except that, it’s a period film based in 1800 and Salman has been working hard on his physique.

It seems, he has to enhance his frame by one and a half times since he is playing a warrior, in the film.

Van Damme sports a ferocious physique, and is known world over, for his international action packed films like Bloodsport, Universal Soldier, Double Impact etc.

He has two sons and one daughter born in 1990 named Bianca from body builder, Gladys Portugues.

Considering both her parents are in physical sport, she must be a tough gal as well!

Salman Khan as Indian Gladiator in Veer

It has been reported that the Salman Khan starrer Veer is about an Indian warrior fighting the British Raj.

Set around 1800, the film will be similar to multiple Oscar winner Gladiator, and feature Salman in state of the art fight scenes. Apart from having Indian actors, the film will also feature numerous Western faces, including the daughter of top Hollywood actor Jean Claude Van Damme - Bianca Van Damme.

Salman is currently busy trying to get into shape as he does not want to be undermined by Bianca, who has a body builder for a mother also.

Husain offers to make painting on 'Yuvvraaj

Bollywood director Subhash Ghai has found a new fan in M F Husain. The renowned painter watched Ghai's latest offering 'Yuvraaj' twice in the theatre and has offered to make a painting on the film.

Husain's appreciation of the film has left Ghai honoured, says the director whose multi-starrer family drama received mixed reviews at the Box Office.

"Yuvraaj is the kind of movie we get to see once in many years. I have always been extremely fond of Subhashji's work and Yuvraaj is one of the finest movies I have seen in a long time," the painter said.

"I wonder on what basis are the people criticizing the movie; I feel it is a beautifully made film with extremely melodious music and some brilliant performances," he said in a statement released by the film's producers.

Subhash Ghai was very ecstatic with the overwhelming response by the noted painter.

"Yuvraaj has been a marvelous experience. I am flattered by Husain ji's appreciation for the movie. It is an honor to hear such words of appreciation from a legend like M F Hussain. I am also very deeply moved by his offer to make a painting on ‘Yuvvraaj’. This is by far the biggest compliment I have received on this movie," said the director.

Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Boman Irani and Zayed Khan star in the film which hit theatres on November 21.

Akshay Kumar new Release

Although busy with his animation film Jumbo which, incidentally, is ready for release, Akshay Kumar found time to complete work on Tasveer.
But the actor and the film’s director Nagesh Kukunoor, we hear, have had some differences during the during the making of the film.
A source informed us that Akshay had earlier stalled the film and refused to shoot any further when he was made to wait endlessly during its first schedule in Canada. Only after some strong persuasion from the production house did the actor agree to face the camera for it again.

So, what’s Akshay’s problem this time around? “He wasn’t too happy with the way Kukunoor’s assistant, Elahe, was behaving on the sets of Tasveer. Akshay felt that she was much too domineering. At one point of time, he even demanded to know whether it was Nagesh or Elahe who was directing the film,” reveals the source. We wonder what Nagesh has to say to this!
